Mysterious Martian Car Wash Isn’t Much Of A Mystery

It seems like NASA got a bit of a surprise recently, when the Mars rover Opportunity’s solar panels were swept of their dust while it was closed down during the night.  But I think NASA has been trying to cover up the truth.  I found this photo that might explain it:

Rory says Microsoft has been keeping him busy, but as the DCC of Mars?  Who knew?  No wonder why he was too busy to blog, and that may explain some of his recent way out there posts.

I gotta say - my favorite thing about the picture is the little boom-box in the background.

I love details like that.

Oh, and I'm going to sue you for lifting my comics without permission :)

Rory,
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Besides the boom-box (what self-respecting car wash doesn’t have a boom box), the cleaner that the cartoon Rory is holding is none other than GlassPlus (since Melissa works in the IT department for the company that makes it), but I had to scale the picture down so much that you can’t tell what the product is.

I wanted to have the cartoon Rory say something more than .Net Rocks, but I didn’t want to have the cartoon say something that may get you in trouble (and you don’t need me help to get you in trouble). I was thinking of something along the lines of “Should have used .Net, we do Windows right”.

About donxml

I’m an independent consultant, specializing in .Net solutions architecture, based out of New Jersey who also doubles as an evangelist for XML, Domain Driven Design, enterprise architecture and .Net. I do not work for Microsoft, the W3C or any other big company that you may know of (at least not yet). I’ve been an indie for over ten years, and although I’ve been tempted a couple times to take a job with companies like Microsoft, I’ve haven’t found something better than my current situation. I work mostly with the large pharmaceuticals that are based here in New Jersey, and usually find myself on long term contracts. Definitely not the prototypical indie consultant, but it lets me dedicate time to my non-income generating activities like the developer community stuff, plus financing open source projects like XPathmania and MVP-XML. If you would like to talk to me about doing some contract work, just contact me via the contact page. My rates vary widely, depending on lots of different variables, but mostly distance from Jersey, and type of work. Plus, I’ve been known to donate some of my code for various projects.
