New Blogging Home

I finally got .Text up and running on my hosting provider, and in a state that I considered acceptable.  I skinned the main page with some of my own graphics, but haven’t got around to skinning each major section (I will eventually).  The idea is to use .Text as my content management server.  This way it should be much easier for me to update my website more often.  I’m not leaving my old blog, and will continue to post my .Net only stuff there.  I’m working on an update to .Text that should enable me to post my stuff there, but also get automatically updated here.  This way if you want to read only my .Net stuff, you can still use the old blog, but if you want to see the new stuff like Longhorn, Avalon, SVG, music reviews and my other random babblings, you can subscribe here.  The advantage of using .Text is that I can create major category feeds, and still be able subdivide them to an even more granular level.  This way I can cut down on my perceived noise to signal ratio.

All of the skins and artwork (in Adobe Illustrator format) will be available for others to use, so if you are looking to get a free CMS, look into .Text, and you can use my customizations and graphics.

Good idea (.Text == CMS)! Mind if I copy?

I'll be looking forward to the content about XAML too. Glad to see some ease of design coming into the Windows App world.

About donxml

I’m an independent consultant, specializing in .Net solutions architecture, based out of New Jersey who also doubles as an evangelist for XML, Domain Driven Design, enterprise architecture and .Net. I do not work for Microsoft, the W3C or any other big company that you may know of (at least not yet). I’ve been an indie for over ten years, and although I’ve been tempted a couple times to take a job with companies like Microsoft, I’ve haven’t found something better than my current situation. I work mostly with the large pharmaceuticals that are based here in New Jersey, and usually find myself on long term contracts. Definitely not the prototypical indie consultant, but it lets me dedicate time to my non-income generating activities like the developer community stuff, plus financing open source projects like XPathmania and MVP-XML. If you would like to talk to me about doing some contract work, just contact me via the contact page. My rates vary widely, depending on lots of different variables, but mostly distance from Jersey, and type of work. Plus, I’ve been known to donate some of my code for various projects.
