Well, it is finally official. I'm finally "over the hill". Time to kick back, relax, start eating prunes, switch to the local "Lite FM" station, start complaining about the music today's kids listen to, maybe run for a local government office, etc., etc. etc. NOT! Nothing is going to change. Acutally, I'm pissed that I can't go see Bobby Blitz' (from Overkill) new side band, The Cursed over at the Highline Ballroom (which is a new, cool club in NYC).
Yesterday I went down to the Philly Code Camp, and gave 2 talks. One was a dry run of my upcoming TechEd talk, "Extending Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 with Managed Packages" (thanks to all 5 people that sat thru it, it isn't a topic that would get much of a draw at a Code Camp). The other was my "Intro To LINQ - Reinventing Visual Basic" talk. I've been updating that talk, and found that a put a little too much in this time, so I ran a bit long. There is just way too much to cover in one talk. Plus I was to talk a little more freely about VBx (the version of VB after 9), and gave and explained a couple thing that I'd like to see in VBx. The next time I'm giving the VB LINQ talk is at the Set Focus 10th anniversary event on June 9th. Melissa returned the favor of getting everyone to sign happy birthday to me at the Code Camp (I brought a cake to her user group, NJSQL for her birthday back in March). Her brother even created a nice banner to make sure everyone knew it was my birthday. Thank you to everyone at the Code Camp.
Today, I'm just going to relax, maybe put a couple final touches on my TechEd slidedeck, make a sauerbraten dinner for the family, and open my last bottle of 1993 Grand Reserve Rioja.
