Microsoft MVP in the area of XML

I just found out that I’ve been designated a Microsoft MVP in the area of XML.  This is great, and I’d like to thank everyone that has helped and supported me other the years (most of all my wife and kids for putting up with me), you’ve earned it as much as I have.

Congrats, Don, that's a pretty sweet deal! Actually, *I*'ve always wanted to be a Microsoft MVP... it's just that I never quite figured out how to be valuable (let alone "most" valuable). Okay, to be honest I never even figured out how to be a player, but these things happen.

Anyway, congratulations! :)

Now you need to keep working on your next title "Microsoft MVP [XAML]". Good Luck :)

Congratulations Don,

I used to be a MVP for DTS (Desk Top Services), then moved over to MS Access back in the early-to-mid 90's... since then my contribution dropped off due to personal issues but now I'm ready to get back into it again. Any tips on the best way to become a MVP again? I've tried posting in the XML newsgroups but it's so hard to find a question that hasn't been answered yet!! (Probably since I'm online when most Americans are asleep).

Congratulations again.

I always knew you were a most valuable something.

I'm glad this is it :) You've bloody-well earned it.

I wish we were in the same city right now - I'd buy you a gigantic blue froofy drink with curly straws and pieces of fruit floating in it.

Doug, Yeh, I forgot you were in NJ. So there are 4 MVPs in NJ (Doug, ScottW, Jason Beres, me). Did I leave anyone out? Drew lives in the city now, so I don't think he counts. :)

About donxml

I’m an independent consultant, specializing in .Net solutions architecture, based out of New Jersey who also doubles as an evangelist for XML, Domain Driven Design, enterprise architecture and .Net. I do not work for Microsoft, the W3C or any other big company that you may know of (at least not yet). I’ve been an indie for over ten years, and although I’ve been tempted a couple times to take a job with companies like Microsoft, I’ve haven’t found something better than my current situation. I work mostly with the large pharmaceuticals that are based here in New Jersey, and usually find myself on long term contracts. Definitely not the prototypical indie consultant, but it lets me dedicate time to my non-income generating activities like the developer community stuff, plus financing open source projects like XPathmania and MVP-XML. If you would like to talk to me about doing some contract work, just contact me via the contact page. My rates vary widely, depending on lots of different variables, but mostly distance from Jersey, and type of work. Plus, I’ve been known to donate some of my code for various projects.
